We’ll equip you with a picnic backpack, brim full with tasty items, including a bottle of wine, a hearty snack, as well as other specialities from the Wachau region. Within a relatively small space, the Wachau has a wealth of beauty to offer. Besides the Danube, you can discover calm villages nested within an awesome landscape dominated by unique vineyards and dry stone walls. Our estate team will be happy to point you in the right direction to find the best picnic spots and hiking trails.

Wine.Vineyard.Hike
Imagine a hike through the vineyard terraces of the Wachau with friends, travel companions or coworkers. Interested? Then get in touch with us! We show you around our winery, then guide you and your friends on a hike through the most picturesque vineyards between Dürnstein and Spitz. We serve you wine and refreshments, while answering every question about the Wachau and its wines.

Would you like to offer your friends, family or colleagues something special? No problem. We charter the “MS-Mariandl” for you and explore the Wachau from the Danube. The ship departs from Dürnstein, from where we cruise past beautiful village scenery and spectacular vineyards to Spitz and back again. On board we have a small but fine selection of our wines.

Cruise the Danube at 25 knots. Imagine enjoying a view of the Wachau while cruising the Danube River with friends, family or coworkers. Interested? No problem. We charter for you the Anatole, the region’s most modern private yacht. With the help of Captain Engelbert Maurer, we whisk you at full speed ahead from Krems to Spitz. On the leisurely return trip, over a glass of wine we introduce you to marvellous details of the Wachau’s vineyard landscape.

Launch out with us on a voyage of discovery to the Wachau. Following a guided tour of our winery, we raise the anchor and launch our Zille, an historic Danube flat-bottom boat. With a cargo of the most important wine varieties, we take you on a trip from Dürnstein to Spitz and back, while answering every question about the Wachau and its villages, vineyards and wines.

Glide through our vineyards on a Segway! First, right on our estate, you get a crash course in riding a Segway. Then you take off on tour with Thorsten Busch, a sommelier profoundly acquainted with the Wachau, to the most dazzling sites in and around Dürnstein. Effortlessly, you climb the Kellerberg and Höhereck vineyards, enjoying breathtaking views before the descent. Back at the estate, we guide you through our 300-year-old Baroque wine cellar and the lavish splendour of our Cellar Palace. Here we acquaint you with a selection of our finest Federspiel and Smaragd vintages, helping you appreciate the unique, profound nuances and exquisite personality of the Wachau’s wines.

Exclusive and unique! We start with you on a helicopter flight over one of the most beautiful river landscapes in Europe. High above the historic villages, castles and monasteries of the Wachau World Heritage Site, the view opens up into the rocky and steep vineyards where our wines are made. Back on the ground, we will guide you through the labyrinths of our natural cellar, tell you everything you always wanted to know about Wachau wines, and serve you our best Federspiel and Emeralds at a commented tasting.

On-site adventure: that’s the idea behind Michael Ocvirk’s Wachau Safari. Michael and his team get behind the wheels of their jeeps to places where cars and bicycles don’t stand a chance. High up the Achleiten hill, for instance, or to Auenwildnis Wachau, the nature reserve recently created across the Danube. The ‘Yukon’ team, a human Wikipedia on plant and animal life, know even the deepest of the Wachau’s secrets. We treat you to wine while providing you with interesting facts about varieties and vineyards. To crown your visit, we accompany you on a safari through our estate. individual basis

An afternoon flavoured by our wines and featuring a highly unique adventure. You start at our winery, where we guide you through the labyrinth that makes up the 300-year-old Baroque cellars where our wines come to life. Reemerging to daylight, we introduce you to an exclusive selection of wines and invite you to sample the Wachau’s broad variety of styles. Afterwards, we accompany you to the Danube shore where you meet Gregor Wimmer, your instructor in the art of stand-up paddling or SUP. Following his motto – climb on, get going and have fun – you enjoy a guided tour of the inlets along the river.
